dc.description.abstract Lornoxicam is an oxicam derivatie and NSAID drug, used in treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis. It is a highly bitter and hence not suitable for geriatric and pediatric patients. In the present work an attempt was made to prepare taste masked suspension of Lornoxicam using a simple rapid and cost effective method like complexation with ion exchange resin . Complexation was done using ion exchange resin like kyron T-114 and kyron T-104. The complexes were evaluated for drug loading, particle size, taste masking. The optimize complex was formulated into a suspension. The prepared suspensions were evaluated for drug content, particle size, viscosity, sedimentation volume, drug release and stability studies. Kyron T 114 with drug ratio of 1:3 was found mask the taste satisfactorily. The particle size and drug loading of complex was 30-160 μm and 90.78% respectively. All the drug was release within 70 minutes. The assay, particle size, viscocity, pH ,zeta potential and sedimentation volume of suspension was found to be 96.5% ,20-210 μm,2680 cps,7.2,-9.76 mV and 0.94.respectively. The formulations were stable after one month of stability studies., en_US
