dc.description.abstract Introduction: Woman surpassing though different stages and phase prospers the house hold and society. As a wife and mother she becomes the locus of the family which is functional unit of the society. Woman being wife is the source of sexual ecstasy and credited as best aphrodisiac and a woman described unit for sexual life and impregnation. Without mother there is no possibility of conception. Perfect ferminity leads to healthy and safe motherhood. Because of their unique physiology like menstrual cycle, pregnancy, child birth, women are more susceptible to suffer from sexually transmitted diseases. In ayueveda “Yoni” is used in a very broad sense and represents the whole female genital organs and “Vyapad” means disorders come under the heading of yonivyapad .The word Kaphaj denotes the word origin of disease from kapha. In routine Gynaecology practice number of patients present with discharge per vaginally, itching of vagina and low backache or dull pain in lower abdomen and vagina which are main symptoms of Kaphaj Yonivyapad. Annually 20 lakh women suffer from this disease out of 30% are infected by “Candida albicans”. Due to lack and negligence of personal hygiene fungal infection of Candida albicans occurs. Most of these symptoms of Kaphaj Yonivyapad are similar to Vulvovaginal Candidiasis in modern science. Aims and objective:  To make a comprehensive literary review of Kaphaj Yonivyapad w.s.r. to Vulvovaginal Candidiasis.  To evaluate the effect of Bruhatyadi Varti in Kaphaj Yonivyapad caused by Vulvovaginal Candidiasis. Material and methods: Single blind clinical study with minimum 30 Patients whom fulfilling the inclusion criteria were randomly selected from the patients of Parul Ayurved Hospital, Limda and specially designed proforma was prepared. In trial group Bruhatyadi Yonivarti was used and in control group Pippalyadi Yonivarti was used. Subjective criteria like srava, kandu, yonishoola, Katishoola, mutra daha and maithun asathata were assessed. Objective criteria like itching and discharge were assessed. Results: Subjective parameters, srava praman, srava swaroopa, srava gandha, kandu, yonishoola, mutrahdaha, katishoola and maithun asathata was showed marked relief from symptoms i.e. (95%), (75%), (100%), (91%), (93%), (100%),( 53%) and (63%) respectively among group A which showed statistically significant results. Subjective parameters, srava praman, srava swaroopa, kandu, yonishoola, mutrahdaha and maithun asathata was showed marked relief from symptoms i.e. (83%), (100%), (66%), (66%), (20%), (61%) and (60%) respectively among group A which showed statistically significant results except katishoola. Objective parameters, evidence of itching, per vaginal discharge and srava swaroopa were showed marked relief from symptoms i.e. (91%), (93%) and (75%) respectively among group A which showed statistically significant results except itching. Objective parameters, evidence of itching, per vaginal discharge and srava swaroopa were showed marked relief from symptoms i.e. (66%), (73%) and (100%) respectively among group B which showed statistically significant results. Conclusion: Bruhatyadi showed slightly more effect than Pippalyadi varti. en_US
