Abstract:
Aims and Objectives:
i. To carry out gandhaka shodhanam by different media and methods.
ii. To develop standard manufacturing procedures of gandhaka shodhanam.
iii. To evaluate the role of different media and methods in the shodhanam of gandhakam by analytical study of media and Gandhaka – before and after Shodhana.
Collection of Raw Materials: Pharmacy, Parul Institute of Ayurved and periphery of campus and market.
Setting: Laboratory, Parul Institute of Ayurved, Limda, Vadodara, Gujarat.
Materials and Methods:
The study was carried out in following phases:
1) Conceptual study
2) Pharmacognostical study
3) Pharmaceutical study
4) Analytical study
Conclusion:
1. The safe to use gandhaka can be obtained by any one method of shodhana; still acharya described different methods considering the guna of the shodhana dravya.
2. The alternate hypothesis is accepted as there is significant difference in percentage of sulphur obtained after all different methods of shodhana.
3. The present method may be considered as standard manufacturing process i.e. SMP for the purification of gandhaka by different methods.
