<description>Assessment of asthi ghanatha in different prakruti w.s.r to bone mineral density
ANTONY, STEPHEN
The Dosha, Dhatu and Malas are the fundamental aspect of body, they have close relationship with each other, increase or decrease state of one will causes the increase or decrease state of others. Dhatu signifies the function of Dharana, Asthi dhatu is Parthiva pradhana mahabhouta, which has more firm and provides supports to other tissues. The Peoples are born with various proportions of dosha, their body constitution is referred accordingly. Prakruti plays a vital role in determining the structural and functional quality of dhatu. There are so many variations in both the physical and mental characters of an individual based on the Prakruti, the variations are seen in relation with height, weight, body built, intelligence etc. which is identified by the description of specific characteristic feature of an individual person explained by all Acharyas. “Sara samhata sthira shareer” “Sukumara avadada gatra mrdu anga” “Rooksha apachita alpa shareer” This are the different quotation indicates, the persons possess different nature both physically and mentally as per the predominance of Prakruti. This research work is aimed to evaluate, if there any relationship between Asthi Ghanatha and different Prakruti.

<title>The physiological study of artava in relation with different prakruti</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/8025</link>
<description>The physiological study of artava in relation with different prakruti
Patil, Vinita
Ayurveda is serving the ailing humanity since the creation of life is not behind in&#13;
recognizing the most pragmatic feature of a woman. There is many normal&#13;
physiological phenomenons taking place in the body which is carried out in a cyclic&#13;
manner. Among all these physiological changes, Menstruation (Aartava) is an&#13;
essential physiological function of women during their reproductive age.&#13;
The practice of Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, is based on the concept&#13;
of three major constitutional types (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) defined as “Prakriti”. In&#13;
the era of modern science, evidence has surfaced connecting the concepts&#13;
of tridosha and prakriti with metabolic pathways, chronic diseases, and various&#13;
genotypes. Such evidence has thrown up insights about the universality of Ayurvedic&#13;
concepts as well as their apparent association with concepts in current science. This&#13;
review was undertaken to consolidate the evidence of such associations which exist&#13;
between prakriti and menstrual cycle (artava) in females. As far as present work is&#13;
concerned, the word "Artava" has been restricted to "Bahirpushpa" (menstrual blood)&#13;
only. The present works aim to study the impact of three major constitutional types on&#13;
the artava (menstrual flow) in healthy females.&#13;
This work understand the normal physiological variations of artava in females of&#13;
different prakruti. This study shall encourage the work on the subjects for drawing out&#13;
the clear linkages that might exist for prakritis being distinct phenotypes representing&#13;
certain genotypes.

<title>A Study to evaluate the effect of Sleep Wake Scheduling on Nidraviparyaya with special reference to Shift Work Sleep Disorder</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/8024</link>
<description>A Study to evaluate the effect of Sleep Wake Scheduling on Nidraviparyaya with special reference to Shift Work Sleep Disorder
Jyothi, T
Introduction:&#13;
Shift Work Sleep Disorder (ICD 10- G47.26, DSM IV-307.45) (SWSD) ; the symptoms of insomnia and excessive somnolence in association with some degree of social, occupational, or other impairment are collectively known as Shift Work Sleep Disorder is a result of urbanization disturbing natural circadian rhythm of sleep. It is known to cause significant changes in individuals’ physical, occupational, cognitive, and social functioning, which also decreases their quality of life. Ayurvedic classics signify the prescribed sleep wake scheduling in ancient times that the person kept awake at night should sleep for half that period the next morning without taking any food. This study evolved to test this research hypothesis.&#13;
Materials and Methods:&#13;
30 cases of SWSD diagnosed as per DSM IV 307.45 were studied regarding changes in PSQI, WHO QoL, Agnibala, dehabala and Satwabala after advising Ayurveda prescribed sleep wake scheduling for 15 days as pre and post-test clinical study.&#13;
Ethical clearance was obtained (PIA/IECHR/2016/-17/KS/011) and this study is registered in Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI/2017/08/009217).&#13;
Results:&#13;
On Quality of Sleep as assessed by PSQI, improvement showed were in Subjective sleep quality (38.02%), Sleep latency (40.52%), Sleep duration (25%), Sleep efficiency (53.5%), Sleep disturbance (60%), Daytime dysfunction (57.14%) and Global Score (35.17%).&#13;
The life style modification showed improvements in Subjective feeling of quality of life (30.06%), health (10%), Physical domain (2.5%) and Psychological domain (0.7%) which was statistically significant as assessed by WHO QoL. Statistically significant improvements were observed in Agnibala, Dehabala and Satwabala.&#13;
Discussion:&#13;
The Ayurveda prescribed sleep wake scheduling probably shows improvement in primary and secondary outcome measures by virtue of its ability to improve Agni and thereby overcoming the status of Ajirna in people with SWSD.&#13;
Conclusion: Prescribed Sleep Wake Scheduling as per Ayurvedic principles have beneficial effects on Nidraviparyaya with special reference to Shift Work Sleep Disorder is accepted and the null hypothesis stands rejected.

<title>A Comparative Study Of Interrelation Between Deha- Prakriti And Vyayama-Shakti By Push-Up Test And Harvard Step Test</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/8023</link>
<description>A Comparative Study Of Interrelation Between Deha- Prakriti And Vyayama-Shakti By Push-Up Test And Harvard Step Test
Dubal, Bhavin
Introduction:&#13;
According to Ayurveda Samhitas different Dosha Pradhana Deha-Prakriti&#13;
individuals have different levels of Bala. Vyayama-Shakti is also an important parameter&#13;
to assume Trividha Bala i.e. Pravara, Madhyama and Avara. According to all these&#13;
references different Dosha Pradhana Deha-Prakriti individuals should have different&#13;
levels of Vyayama-shakti too; but there is not any clear reference found about direct&#13;
interrelation between Deha-prakriti and Vyayama-Shakti.&#13;
For examination of Vyayama-Shakti there is not any standard test described in&#13;
Ayurveda text, but some of the modern fitness test/ efficiency tests which include different&#13;
body exercises like Push-up test and Harvard step test can be used for this purpose.&#13;
Aim &amp; Objectives:&#13;
To study if there is interrelation between Deha-Prakriti and Vyayama-Shakti. To&#13;
study different Deha-prakritis of healthy volunteers. To study Vyayama-shakti of healthy&#13;
volunteers having different Deha-prakritis. To compare the Vyayama-shakti assessed by&#13;
Push-up Test and Harvard Step Test in different Deha-Prakriti individuals.&#13;
Materials-Methods:&#13;
Total 90 healthy volunteers of different Deha-Prakriti having age group 18 to 22&#13;
years with normal BMI were selected from Parul University Campus, Vadodara for the&#13;
study after examination of Deha-Prakriti. They were grouped in 3 main groups of Kapha,&#13;
Vata or Pitta Dosha Pradhana Deha-Prakriti. They were asked to perform Push-up Test&#13;
and Harvard Step Test up to the appearance of Ardha-Vyayama-Sakti symptoms for&#13;
examination of Vyayama-shakti. Observations were noted and compared with the standard&#13;
rating tables for individual tests and finally Vyayama-shakti levels of individuals were&#13;
assessed. Vyayama-shakti levels were compared in different Dosha Pradhana Prakriti&#13;
groups. Results:&#13;
Results were calculated and statistically analysed using One Way ANOVA Test.&#13;
The test showed significant interrelation between Deha-Prakriti and Vyayama-shakti with&#13;
Push-up Test results.&#13;
Interpretation:&#13;
Kapha Pradhan Prakriti individuals shown Pravara Vyayama-shakti of Vata&#13;
Pradhan Prakriti individuals shown Madhyama Vyayama-shakti whereas Pitta Pradhan&#13;
Prakriti individuals shown Avara Vyayama-shakti with Push-up Test results. The Bala&#13;
examined by Vyayama-shakti may have combined effect of Sahaja, Kalaja and Yuktikrut&#13;
Bala mentioned in texts whereas the Bala levels described in Deha-prakriti laxana may be&#13;
of Sahaja Bala only that one got at the time of sukrashonita samyoga.&#13;
Conclusion:&#13;
There is interrelation between Deha-Prakriti and Vyayama-shakti. Fitness assessed&#13;
by the push-up test is more reliable to assess Vyayama-Shakti related to Dosha constitution&#13;
in different Deha-prakriti described in Ayurveda as compare to Harvard step test.
