<description>AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY TO ASSESS MAJJA DHATU WITH THE HELP OF ASTHIKSHANA LAKSHANA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BONE MINERAL DENSITY
TRIPATHI, KAUSTUBH MANI
Introduction: Health is the ultimate cornerstone for satisfying healthy life. Ayurveda's aim is to achieve physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being by following the preventive and promotional approach, as well as treating the diseases with different remissive approaches. &#13;
All Dhatus are developed from Panchamahabhuta during embryonic life. During the development of fetus, due to its own reasons Dosha become intensified..According to Kshirdadhi Nyaya, Purva Dhatu is responsible for the formation of next Dhatu. We get knowledge about relationships between Asthi dhatu and Majja dhatu detoriation of Asthi dhatu reflect in to Majja dhatu due to improper transformation. &#13;
Hence the present study were taken to observe and to assess Majjadhatu with the help of Asthikshaya lakshana with special reference to Bone mineral density. Aim and Objectives:-&#13;
1. AIM-&#13;
An observational study to assess Majjadhatu with the help of Asthikshaya lakshana with special reference to Bone mineral density. Objectives :-&#13;
1. To assess the Asthikshaya with the help of Bone mineral density.&#13;
2. To assess Majjadhatukshaya &amp; Majjadhatu sarata.&#13;
3. To assess the relationship between Asthikshaya &amp; Majjakshaya and type of Majja sarata.&#13;
4. To observe status of Majja Dhatu on the basis of BMD, Majjadhatukshaya and Majjadhatusarata.&#13;
Methodology:- Volunteers who fulfill the eligibility criteria was selected and who are voluntarily willing to participate in the study and assessed their Majja dhatu. Randomly persons were screened for Asthikshaya with the help of B.M.D. Screened individuals osteoporosis / Osteopenia were included in study. These individuals were assessed for Majjakshaya and majja Sarata according to subjective parameter made for the same. Observed data were analyzed with appropriate statistical test. Ethical clearance: Was received from the Parul Institute of Ayurveda Institutional Ethical Committee, University of Parul. (IEC No: PU / PIA / IECHR/2019/5) .and Clinical Trial Registry registered in India [CTRI/2019/04/018436 ][Registered on: 01/04/2019] Observations and Results: Total 222 willingly volunteers screened for Bone mineral density test where as 68 was found in inclusion criteria,48 were Osteopenic and 20 were Osteoporosis.14 were found in Heena majja sarata with having osteoporosis &amp; 48 were found in Madhyam Majja Sarata with having Osteopenic and 06 were found Osteoporosis with having madhyam Majja sarata. Discussion: Ashrayashrayi sambandha, Asthi is the seat for vata Dosha if vata Dosha gets increased asthi gets reduced vice versa. Due to Ashrayashrayi sambandha the essence of Asthi dhatu depends on vata Dosha and Ashrayashrayi bhav sambandha, having the property of Ruksha, Laghu, khara, guna of vata dosha. The severe decrease of Majja Dhatu in the body results in certain signs and symptoms such as Soushiyra, Shiryanta, weakening of the bone and other forms of bone pain.&#13;
Conclusion: Majjakshaya is found in person with Osteopenia and osteoporosis.In the same individuals Heena and madhyam Majja dhatu sarata is found. It is concluded that- Majja dhatukshaya and Heenasarata are found similar to Asthikshaya. There is a relationship of “Heena majja sarata with Asthikshaya in relation to Majjakshaya” is proved. Thus the Null Hypothesis is rejected. So it was a attempt observationally to assess Majjadhatu with the help of Asthikshaya Lakshana with special reference to Bone mineral density. Keywords: madhyam Majja dhatu sarata, Osteopenia &amp; osteoporosis.

<description>AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY OF MEDHA IN RAKTA SARA PURUSHA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT
SHAH, JAIMIN
INTRODUCTION:&#13;
Dosha,Dhatu and Mala are root factors of living body. There are 7 Dhatus. Such as Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja, Shukra. Sara-: Meanings of words are essential, most excellent, best real, genuine, true and strong. We can define Sara is the supreme quality of Dhatu and of superb functional aspect of Dhatu. Dhatu sarata is special at the time conception. It depends on Dosha- Ahara, Vihara of the person. Sarata have been classified into various categories like-Uttam Sarata, Madhyam Sarata and Hina Sarata. According to Charaka Vimana sthana- characteristics of Rakta Sara Purusha as follow: Rakta Sara person are having with lustrous and red colored external ears, eyes, face, lips, tongue, palms and soles, nails, forehead and genitalia. Such individuals are very attractive, handsome and happy with their life. They have good intelligence. They are delicate and moderate in body strength. They cannot sustain strenuous job and hot climate. Rakta Sara person are determined- acts according to own decision. Ayurvedic classics explain Medha as overall intelligence. Medha represents “mental vigor or power, intelligence, prudence, wisdom and intelligence personality. Jivana is important function of Rakta Dhatu. It will be easy to recruit good IQ level people for opportunity where intelligence work is needed. Medha is the one of the quality of Raktasara Purusha present study deals with IQ level in Raktasara Purusha. So I have selected ‘Observational study of Medha in Rakta Sara Purusha with special reference to Intelligence Quotient.&#13;

<title>A STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF GHRITPANA IN MANDAGNI</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/7330</link>
<description>A STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF GHRITPANA IN MANDAGNI
PATEL, JIL DHARMENDRAKUMAR
INTRODUCTION:&#13;
In Ayurveda the term “Agni” is used for the factor which performs the function of digestion of food and metabolism. Agni converts food in the form of energy, which is responsible for all vital functions of our body. In Sushruta Samhita, Mandagni is defined as Agni taking long time to digest even a very small quantity of consumed food and at the same time produces Udara shiro gaurava, Kasa, Shwasa, Praseka, Chhardi, Gatrasadana.Mandagni is the root cause of almost diseases. So, by maintaining Jatharagni in normal state, we can prevent further diseases. In view of this practical implementation of this study found to be possible and easily adaptable. Though Ayurveda had briefly explained the concept of Agni there is some lacuna in establishing the effect of Ghritpana in the victim of Mandagni.&#13;
Deepan is aimed of correcting the Agni,by its regular use, life becomes healthy, Agni gets improved and health can be maintained. In all most Samhitas Go-Ghrita describe as Agnideepaka, but physician forgets the use of this Ghrita in the day-to-day practice. So, here, first Go-Ghrita was taken for the clinical study.&#13;
AIM AND OBJECTIVES:&#13;
• Aim:To evaluate the effect of Ghritpana in Mandagni.&#13;
ABSTRACT&#13;
• Objectives:&#13;
1. To evaluate Agni (Jatharagni).&#13;
2. To evaluate the effect of Ghritpana in Mandagni.&#13;
METHODOLOGY:&#13;
Clinical study was conducted on 50 subjects with the symptoms of having Mandagni condition. After getting Written consent from subject study was carried out and during this study 57 total subject were enrolled.All of them were clearly informed about study. 7 subjects quit treatment at different stage, hence only 50 subjects could complete Ghritpana treatment fully. The outcomes of subjective parameter were assessed by standard scoring method of Agnipareekshana patraka and objective parameter were assessed by BMR (Revised Harris Benedict Equation).&#13;
Ethical clearance was obtained (PU/PIA/IECHR/2019/4) and this study is registered in Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI/2019/04/018468).&#13;
OBSERVATIONS &amp; RESULTS:&#13;
Effect of Go-Ghrita was significant result in Abhyavaharana shakti, Jarana shakti,Udara-gaurava, Shiro gaurava and Gatrasadana. and not-significant result was obtained in Kasa. Overall effect of treatment- 50 subjects of Mandagni condition were treated by Go-Ghritpana. So, Go-Ghrita is the effective in the condition of Mandagni, which is statistically proven by improving in both the subjective and objective parameters, and also no recurrence was observed during the follow up period. During this study it has been observed that Agni produced by Go-Ghrita will stay for longer period So,Samagni Lakshana can be seen for long time.&#13;
Go-Ghrita is having Madhura Rasa, Snigdha and Guru Guna,Sheeta Veerya. Go-Ghrita works efficiently with Prabhava and Agnideepana is effect of this. So, this Prabhava, work by suppressing Rasa, Vipaka and Veerya.&#13;
CONCLUSION&#13;
According to statistical study, the alternate hypothesis- Go-Ghrita has beneficial effect in Mandagni is accepted.

<description>AN UNCONTROLLED OPEN PARALLEL STUDY OF USHNODAKPAN, VYAYAMA , AND BOTH IN MEDOVRIDDHI W.S.R TO B.M.I
MEHRA, DEEPIKA
Introduction:&#13;
Meda causes unctuousness in organs, enlargement of abdomen and flanks and also the disorders cough, dyspnoea etc. Medovriddhi is caused due to vitiation of body entities namely like Kapha Dosha, Meda Dhatu, Malaetc2. Acharya Charak has described Medovriddhi as excessive increase in quantity of Meda Dhatu leading to pendulous movements of flanks, abdomen and chest with morphological disproportion3. Increased Meda causes unctuousness in organs enlargement of abdomen, flanks. Acharya Vagabhatta has stated that the increased Medo Dhatu also produces the similar features of Mamsa Dhatu and also causes fatigue, dysponea on exertion, drooping of buttocks, breast and abdomen4. Ahar &amp;Vihar plays an important role in Medovriddhi. Ushnodak is one of the Unique Dravadravyawhich is explained by Yogratnakara comes under Ahara used in Medovriddhi5. Practice of Vyayama brings about lightness, ability to work, stability, resistance to discomfort and alleviation of Doshas(specially Kapha), which comes under Vihara in CharakaSamhita6.&#13;
Aim:&#13;
• To study comparative effect of Ushnodakpana, Vyayamaandbothin Medovriddhi with special reference toB.M.I&#13;
Objectives:&#13;
1. To evaluate the effect of Ushnodakpana in Medovriddhi.&#13;
2. To evaluate the effect of Vyayama inMedovriddhi.&#13;
3. To evaluate the effect of Ushnodakpana and Vyayama in Medovriddhi.&#13;
4. To compare the effect of Ushnodakpana, Vyayama, and both inMedovriddhi.&#13;
Materials and Methods:&#13;
1. It is the comparative study in which 90 subjects were selected on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Group of 30 were randomlymade.&#13;
2. Medovriddhi were assessed BT, and AT with the ayurvedic criteria (Subjectively) and modern criteria B.M.I (Objectively) follow up in 15day.&#13;
3. Then they were divided in to three groups having 30 subjectseach. &#13;
Ethical clearance&#13;
Was obtained from Institutional Ethics Committee of Parul Institute of Ayurveda, Parul University. (IEC No PU/PIA/IECHR/2019/2), and Registered in Clinical Trial Registry India (CTRI/2019/03/018234).&#13;
Results:&#13;
• The final result showed that there is significant difference among three groups. Further we can observe that mean difference for Group C is greater than Group A and GroupB.&#13;
• Hence, we conclude that effect observed in Group C is more than Group A and GroupB.&#13;
Discussion:&#13;
In this study Ushnodakpana, Vyayama and both plays a very effective role in the management of Medovriddhi. Here the Subjects with each passing day subjects feels lightness in body, taking interest in doing physical activities, decrease in heaviness. There is also a remarkable reduction of B.M.I seen in overweight persons. So, it is cleared that, there is an effective role of Ushnodakpan, Vyayama and both in Medovriddhi with in that also Ushnodakpan and Vyayama both coordinately plays a very good role in its management because of combineeffect.&#13;
Conclusion:&#13;
The observation showed that there is significant effect of Ushnodakpan (Group A), Vyayama (Group B) and both (Group C) in Medovriddhi within that also Ushnodakpan and Vyayama both together (Group C) shows more beneficial effect in Medovriddhi. The study shows that there is significant reduction of B.M.I in overweight persons within 30 days.
