Development of Fixture for Rotor Assembly and Reduce the Assembly Time
PRAJAPATI, JAYKUMAR
The washing machine has a drain pump to remove the dirty water. The drain pump is made by the Hostacom G3 N01 (30% glass coupled polypropylene homopolymer) material. Now, as per the industry reports, the customer has raised the complaint regarding of failure drain pump. The pump had failed due to friction produced between the rotor and bearing support. To solve the customer’s complaint, fixture has designed. The proposed system consists of metal touch pins which is used for checking the metallic washer, which is placed on the rotor shaft. Applying proposed designed fixture in assembly line, assembly time is reduced and the metallic washer is also checked on the rotor shaft. The average rotor assembly time is reduced and the productivity is also increased and the process is faster with the new design.

Analysis and replacement of the bearing component of the twin grip spindle housing assembly of CNC Precision Centerless Grinding machine

Analysis and replacement of the bearing component of the twin grip spindle housing assembly of CNC Precision Centerless Grinding machine
Patel, Puneet
The bearing is an essential component of centerless grinding machine, the function of which is to support the weight of shaft, while allowing it to freely rotate. It is of prime importance for the bearing to withstand loads and difficult environmental condition, regardless of its use. The bearing used in centerless grinding machine is babbitted shoe bearing, which is customized bearing but expensive. The failure of the bearing will need re-manufacturing which is time consuming and leads to increase in the idle time of machine. Angular contact bearing was chosen as an alternative bearing owing to its availability in many standard sizes at lower cost than shoe bearing. PTC Creo software was used to prepare three-dimensional model of the bearings. The transient and fatigue analysis of both the bearing was performed using Ansys Software. The bearings were compared based on the normal stress, shear stress and total deformation. Based on the analytical results, angular contact bearing was found to be suitable alternative for babbitted shoe bearing for centerless grinding machine.

Weight optimization of bed for heavy duty cnc lathe machine mgx200 using
MODHAVADIYA, HARESH
Here MGX200 CNC Lathe bed selected for the complete static and vibration analysis. The research work carried out to reduce the weight of bed without break its structural rigidity and the accuracy of the machine tool by removing material. In this work, 3D CAD model done by using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018 Software and analysis carried out in ANSYS 16.2 Software. The results shown with the help of values analyze the effect of weight reduction on the structural integrity of the machine bed before and after the weight reduction then conclusions about the optimized design.

Wear analysis of Spherical balls and Cylindrical rollers Type Linear Motion Guideway of CNC Centerless Grinding Machine

Wear analysis of Spherical balls and Cylindrical rollers Type Linear Motion Guideway of CNC Centerless Grinding Machine
Malviya, Pooja
Centerless grinding is a metal finishing process that uses abrasive cutting to remove material from cylindrical workpiece. The guideways are one of the important elements of machine tool. Dressing is important for the grinding and regulating wheel for the geometrical accuracy of the workpiece. The Guideways provide a smooth and positional movement to dressing tool, due to which higher accuracy and precision can be obtained. To analyze the guideway we have considered various parameters like static load and dynamic load on linear motion guideway with preloading condition. Design was prepared in 3D modeling software and analysis was carried out. For analytical calculation standard formulas of Hertzian contact stress theory is carried out to calculate the contact stress, contact patch between elements and deformation of the each element and the guideway. These analytical results were compared with the analysis done in Ansys and Hertz stress calculator. The analytical results and simulation results were found well in acceptable limits.
