Bagari, Vikram
Aims and Objectives:
Comparative analysis of different samples of Swarasa of Vasa patra
To standardize Vasa swarasa prepration method
To make comparison between different procedures of Vasa swarasa preparation
To establish standard manufacturing procedure of Vasa swarasa
To find efficient method of Vasa swarasa preparation in terms of Vasicine content.
Collection of Raw Materials:Herbal Garden, Parul Institute of Ayurved and periphery
of campus.
Materials and Methods:
The study was carried out in following phases:
1) Conceptual study
2) Pharmacognostical study
3) Pharmaceutical study
4) Analytical study
Conclusion: In this study Vasa swaras was prepared by four different types explained
in sharangadhar sanhita madhyam khand i.e. Yantra nishpidan, Putpak, Hima and kwath
method to find efficient method of vasa swarasa preparation.
By using each method three samples of swaras were prepared and its organoleptic and
physico-chemical evaluation were done to standardize the method.
The Organoleptic, Physico-chemical and phyto-chemical test findings were compared.
According to the findings it may be concluded that Yantra nishpidan and Putpak
method of swaras preparation was most efficient to obtain the Vasa swaras. According
to the quantification of Vasicine, as it is found five times more in Yantra Nishpidan and
Putpak method than Hima and Kwath method the first two methods of swarasa
extraction were most efficient.

Aims and Objectives:
i. To carry out gandhaka shodhanam by different media and methods.
ii. To develop standard manufacturing procedures of gandhaka shodhanam.
iii. To evaluate the role of different media and methods in the shodhanam of gandhakam by analytical study of media and Gandhaka – before and after Shodhana.
Collection of Raw Materials: Pharmacy, Parul Institute of Ayurved and periphery of campus and market.
Setting: Laboratory, Parul Institute of Ayurved, Limda, Vadodara, Gujarat.
Materials and Methods:
The study was carried out in following phases:
1) Conceptual study
2) Pharmacognostical study
3) Pharmaceutical study
4) Analytical study
Conclusion:
1. The safe to use gandhaka can be obtained by any one method of shodhana; still acharya described different methods considering the guna of the shodhana dravya.
2. The alternate hypothesis is accepted as there is significant difference in percentage of sulphur obtained after all different methods of shodhana.
3. The present method may be considered as standard manufacturing process i.e. SMP for the purification of gandhaka by different methods.

Surjith, R
Introduction:
Rasa Shastra is one of the important branch of Ayurveda more inclined towards pharmaceutical and pharmacological angles of different methods of collection, purification, preparation, preservwtion, standardization and therapeutical utilization of mercury, mercurial components. From vedic period to Samhita period there was less use of Herbo-mineral drugs are used profusely. Hingulam is one of the most widely used entities, used in preparation of various formulations just as it is highly efficacious similarly it is toxic as well. Maharasa in Rasarnava, Rasa Hridaya Tantra & Rasa Kamadenu and as a part of Sadharana Rasa in Rasa Ratna Samucchaya.
Aims & objectives:
1. To carry out Shodhana of Hingula with Bhavana of different media.
2. To develop the Standard Manufacture Procedure (SMP) of Hingula shodhana.
3. To analyse the different samples of Hingula – before and after Shodhana.
Collection of raw materials:
Hamsapada hingula having japa pushpa or coral red colour and white streaks, fresh drugs of ardraka, nimbu, lakucha and meshi kshira will be procured from Pharmacy, Parul Institute of Ayurved, the periphery of the campus and market and possible drugs will be authenticated by a botanist.
Materials and methods:
The study will be carried out in following phases
1. Conceptual study
2. Pharmacognostical study
3. Pharmaceutical study
4. Analytical study Study design:
Comparative study
Observation:
Observations of the study were analyzed and findings were evaluated by Organoleptic, Physico-chemical and Analytical study.
Results:
The present comparative study shows that there is difference in hingulam purified by different media.
Conclusion:
The result shows that among all the dravyas which is undergone the purification process of hingula lakhucha phala swarasa is the best for purification process to reduce more impurities.

Analytical study to evaluate the effect of different shodhana methods on bhallataka
Chatrabhuji, Milind
Background: Bhallataka (Semecarpus anacardium Linn; Anacardiaceae) fruit is one of the upavisha dravya (semi poisonous drugs). Its importance and utility is increasing day by day because of its therapeutic significance in many diseases including cancer. Though the fruits of Bhallataka have many therapeutic values, pharmacies are scared to use this drug because of its irritant vesicating nature. The fruit contains tarry oil which causes contact dermatitis. Medically it is named as Urushiol Induced Contact Dermatitis because the chemical Urushiol is responsible for the dermatitis. If this vesicant nature is removed, the drug could be a good source for pharmaceutical industries in manufacturing many formulations containing Bhallataka as an ingredient. PLAN OF STUDY: The present study was planned in the following sections:
 Conceptual study
 Pharmacognostical study
 Pharmaceutical study
 Analytical study
The detailed morphological study, macroscopy of Bhallataka (Semecarpus Anacardium Linn.) for its identification and authentification is carried out. Details of the shodhana processes of Bhallataka by various methods in different batches along with pharmaceutical observations like duration, specific findings, and yield obtained after the process etc will be recorded. Along with this, the detailed analytical study of different media used for shodhana is recorded.
ABSTRACT
Analytical study to evaluate the effects of different shodhana methods on Bhallataka
Performing shodhana of bhallataka by these three methods respectively, and by seeing the results of analysis of raw bhallataka and shodhita bhallataka of three different methods; it can be clearly seen that there is difference in the results of these three shodhana methods. The oil content is found in Ishtika churna (brick powder) after the process of shodhana, while solid contents of liquid media increase. That may be because of removal of toxic oily impurities from bhallataka fruits and they may be getting into the media used for shodhana. By comparing the results of analysis of these three methods, it can be concluded that removal of oil content; which is proportional to decrease of toxicity and increase of efficacy and safety; is seen more is the “Rasamrutam First Shodhana Method” than that of “Rasa Tarangini First and Second Shodhana Methods” So, it can be better to use Rasamrutam Shodhana Method for Bhallataka Shodhana; which consists of more steps and complex processes.
